Warming, sweet and lightly spicy, Tumeric milk is one of my favourite night time drinks – perfect for winter! Traditionally, turmeric milk has been used to aid against colds, congestion, headache, and sore throats. Tumeric is also believed to be a depression-fighter. Most traditional recipes will use whole cows milk, but I like to use unsweetened almond milk in mine.
Makes 2 servings
2 cups of unsweetened almond milk
1 tablespoon honey
1 teaspoon ground turmeric
1 cinnamon stick or 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 cardamon pods
1 small pinch of black pepper
1 small pinch of ground ginger
1. Simple, put all of the ingredients into a saucepan and bring to the boil. Reduce the heat.
2. Strain/sieve out the pieces and serve warm.
