Review: Inverlochy Castle Hotel, Fort William, Scotland
Inverlochy Castle Hotel, Fort William, Scotland: Situated just outside of Fort William, Scotland, Inverlochy Castle, the award-winning Hotel and restaurant is the perfect location for an active and luxurious weekend retreat – renowned as being one of the finest country house hotels in Scotland, it certainly lives up to it’s expectations. Built in the 1800’s, the 17 room hotel which was originally a family home, is beautifully decorated – the stunning bouquets of flowers in every room add to the charm.
Each of the 17 bedrooms all have their own design and character with fantastic views of the hotel garden, grounds and mountains. The large, regal bathrooms are a real highlight.
The food at Inverlochy Castle Hotel is not to be missed. The restaurant is now run by Albert and Michael Roux and the menu features British cuisine with French influences and has been awarded AA 3 red rosettes. Every day, a different set tasting menu is available. However, it’s not just the dinner that stands out – the high tea at Inverlochy Castle is fantastic and the scones are some of the best I’ve encountered!
The service at Inverlochy Castle is outstanding and could not be faulted. It’s not a cheap stay, but it excels in all aspects and highly recommended for a luxurious country break.
