Lisbon for a weekend: Where to eat
Lisbon Where To Eat: The food in Lisbon is spectacular, here are our top choices (within a reasonable budget).
1. Solar Dos Presuntos Rua Das Portas de St Antao, 150, Lisbon 1150-269 This iconic restaurant is famous for its excellent seafood – as well as its smoked and grilled meats. The interior is lined with photos and caricatures featuring stars of stage, screen, and football fields who have eaten in this traditional restaurant. Roasted Salt-Cod, Prawn and Lobster Rice and the Meringue Dessert are among the top choices. 2. Descobre, Belem Rua Bartolomeu Dias 65/69, Lisbon, Portugal
Descobre is a perfect lunch spot when discovering the sights of Belem. It’s 2 minute walking distance from the Jeronimos Monastery. They have a great selection of tapas style dishes and hearty Portuguese mains. Nice fresh and modern decor. The tapas and polpo were the highlights. 3. A Fábrica de Santiago, Alfama Rua de Santiago, 12, Lisbon 1100-494
This is another great lunch spot, situated on a quiet street in Alfama – if the weather is good (most likely) sit outside. The menu is varied. Food is traditional but with a modern touch.
